HINSDALE, IL — In recent days, Hinsdale police responded to calls involving a delivery person bitten by a dog, a prowler near a house, a DUI suspect asleep at the wheel and damaged campaign signs. Here is information from the reports:

  • A person making a delivery in the 10 block of West First Street was bitten by a dog about 11:30 a.m. Sept. 12. The dog owner was described as an Asian man wearing a navy blue rain jacket. The dog was a gray mid-sized pit bull. The incident was reported to police three days later.
  • Campaign signs in a yard in the 800 block of West Hinsdale Avenue were spray-painted overnight Sept. 18. The police report did not indicate the message on the signs.
  • Liam N. Burke, 19, of Hinsdale, was cited about 1:30 a.m. Sept. 13 in the 800 block of South Bodin Street on a charge of unlawful consumption of alcohol by a minor. He was released and given a date to appear in court.
  • A car parked in a driveway in the 300 block of North Garfield Avenue was burglarized about 9:45 p.m. Sept. 16. It was rummaged through, but nothing appeared to be missing.
  • Jonathan M. O’Grodny, 23, of Oak Lawn, was arrested about 7 a.m. Sept. 20 at BP Amoco, 149 E. Ogden Ave., on a charge of DUI. According to a report, police responded to a driver asleep at the wheel at a gas pump. O’Grodny submitted to testing that indicated he was over the legal limit for alcohol. He was released and given a date to appear in court.
  • Police received a call about a prowler about 11 p.m. Sept. 19 in the 700 block of East Third Street. The homeowner saw the shadow of a person by the home’s sun room. A neighbor witnessed a high school-aged teen run away from the area. Nothing was reported missing from the house. There were no signs of forced entry. Officers were unable to find the teen.

Police report information is provided by local police departments. Charges are not evidence of guilt. They are a record of police actions on a given day, and persons charged with a crime are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
