THE Kloof and Highway SPCA received several calls on Thursday, 17 September about a puppy that was spotted in Crestholme that looked to be both sick and frightened.
Inspector Petros Simamane and a field officer, Docter Mthombeni, were dispatched to rescue the dog.
Thankfully, while they were searching for the dog in a bushy area, a member of public arrived at the local animal welfare reception with the dog in hand, wrapped in a shirt.

She was named Grace and was sent directly to the on-site clinic to receive treatment for her skin condition. She was placed on a healthy diet, with an extra dose of tender loving care.
“We are monitoring Grace’s recovery and her life will never be the same again. She is receiving the very best care, thanks to your support. We promised Grace, that she will never be hungry and thirsty again, she will know what it is to be loved and belong to her own family,” said the Kloof and Highway SPCA’s manager, Barbara Patrick.
Grace will be placed up for adoption when she is given the all clear from the organisation’s vet.
